Staff Cafeteria
Grimoire got out of the elevator and headed into the steel and tile room. Other T.I.R.S. Members he noticed were around, grabbing food from the lunch line up. He helped himself to the open coffee machine, grabbing a large mug before heading over and grabbed a few apple danishes, and began making his way back to the elevator since he didn't see anyone in particular he wanted to talk to.
Once there, he pushes the button to floor 40.

Re: Staff Cafeteria
Iris got off at floor 20, and made a b-line for the tea and coffee dispensers. Standing in front of the machine, with a tea cup atop a dish, she looks at the orange liquid inside the cup once it was finished. It wasn't like the tea she had at home, the good stuff imported from the Far North, but it would do. She added lemon and a dash of sugar before taking the tea cup and plate out to the balcony. She made sure to separate herself from the other employees she wasn't familiar with, and most of the T.I.R.S. who were well, pigs in her mind. She seen how they had fawned over her features on more times than she could recount.
Iris slid the glass doors to the outside patio over looking the city. The view was breathtaking, and the morning sun was still steadily rising. There was strangely no one out here, but Iris surmised it was the morning air which was brisk, and cold, which she had a particular resistance to, being a Snow Elf. She felt rather comfortable with the cold breeze, so she took a seat at one of the tables, closer to the scenery. She pulled out her large, gold lighter that had the Lovecrest family emblem displayed on its surface with inlay emerald. She clicked a button, letting the decorated hatch open, revealing five, skinny black cigarettes held on both sides of the cigarette case/lighter. She pulled one out, and placed the filter in her mouth before lighting it up.
She exhaled iron blue smoke, cradling the cancer stick between her left index and middle finger, while her right hand lifted the ceramic tea cup to her light pink lips. Warmth entered her as she swallowed the bitter, yet arousing mixture. She would admit again though, she had better at home.
She sets the cup down, leaning back into the chair and turned to the landscape. Buildings stretching out for miles, and beyond that, even more miles of grasslands. The city below was bustling and people went on and about their lives. It was then she thought of Father, for the first time in a while. She brought the cigarette back to her lips. I could have gone another fifty years without thinking of him... damned old fool. she thought harshly, taking a long drag from the cigarette.
She was still receiving correspondence letters from him, who was about ready to try anything to get her back to the Far North, so he could try to marry her off to the Crown Prince due to their... 'status'. She did not care for the Crown Prince of Izhevesk, who she personally found... simple minded, and with a 'one track mind'.
She continued her cigarette, and changed her thoughts to the Estate. She had undergone some modern renovations to the place, and it has been her pet project on the side as of late to keep herself from dying of sheer boredom. Materials were already being shipped, but when they arrived she'd personally rebuild the Estate to a manner she saw truly fit.

Re: Staff Cafeteria
Grimoire's lift came to a stop at the 20th floor again, and he stepped out once again. He made his way to the lineup for a fresh cup of coffee, grabbing a Styrofoam cup when doing so. He sighed, exhausted. Director Shinitase is acting strange today. And now I'm on a mission for her...not like I can decline a mission from the Director anyway. he thought to himself, sighing. He went to turn and leave when his eyes caught the shape of the woman out on the patio section of the Cafeteria. No one ever sits out in that icebox unless its the dead of summer... he thought as he found himself venturing out to meet her.
Stepping out on the extension, Grimoire shivered, realizing he was now out on the terrace before he had a chance to fall back. He paused, turning to her. His eyes met with her face first, and then he noted her pointed ears. An Elf?
She was sitting, enjoying a cup of tea and her cigarette, and when she looked in his direction he quickly moved to the glass and steel railings, leaning over it with the hot container in hand. "Morning." he says, bringing the styrofoam cup to his lips, looking out to the cityscape.

Re: Staff Cafeteria
Iris was still lost in her own thoughts, watching the smoke of her cigarette drift upward in its iron blue plumes when she felt his deep blue eyes upon her. She levelled her amethyst eyes upon his deep sapphire ones, and took in their piercing look before she blinked and he was turning away, looking out to the cityscape. She flashed her eyes towards him, following him as he leaned over the railing with a Styrofoam cup filled with something hot, but from the scent figured it was coffee.
"Morning." was his reply.
She glanced from him to her cigarette, dabbing the ashes into a tray before taking a moment to acknowledge him further. "Morning." her reply was gentle, as his was as she took another drag of the cigarette. Her large eyes looked from her tea cup to the man, wondering if she had met him before in the office. He was wearing a dark suit, and a Tenik Pin, which made his occupation here rather ambiguous. However, the leather fingerless gloves she'd seen other members of the T.I.R.S. wear gave him away.
"You're another one of Tenik Industrial's Response Agents, right?" she asked, after pulling the filter away from her mouth and blew out a steady mist of smoke. She tapped the ashes again into the ashtray upon the patio table, letting it cradle between the grooves cut into the rim of the ashy grey ceramic tray.

Grim turned to the voice when he was certain she was addressing him, and nodded. "Am I that obvious?" he smiled softly, looking back to her amethyst eyes. He was amused by them, as well as the color of her lavender hair and those large, purple-red eyes. Then of course, her pointed ears. She seems unaffected by this cold. I'm wearing layers, and still feel a chill deep into my bones. He thought, trying to hide the fact the only solace was the pipping hot styrofoam cup in hand. He took a long sip from it, reveling the warmth entering his body. He then sighed, then grinned, looking up to her as he leaned his back against the railing. "Perhaps you should be in the T.I.R.S. instead. Would you like an application? I can put a good word in with the boss to see to it you get to have your very own coffee mug. Its an amazing benefit, way better than health care or insurance." he joked, folding his arms across one another, not in a manner to look suave, but more or less to rub his arms subtly together due to the lack of heat. "It's...a bit nippy, no?" he asked, figuring he may as well state the obvious rather than hide the fact the morning air was hurting his lungs and making him shiver.

She looked at him, raising a brow. She giggled at how he was 'keeping his cool', trying to look bad-ass (whether intentional or otherwise was unknown to her), and made a sarcastic reply about the T.I.R.S. group. Heh, this is amusing. At least he hasn't opened with some lewd pick up line I'm used to hearing. But...lets see how long he can last this cold. she thought mischievously, raising her tea cup to her lips to sip from. "Hmhmhm, no, I like my place in Records." she started, chuckling before she took a nice long sip of the warm lemon tea and sets it back upon the plate. She kept her brow raised and looked up at him with a grin of her own. "Cold? Never. I always come out here when I have free time, especially in the morning. It is always vacant in these early hours, this veranda I mean; I can never tell why. I, personally find the temperature pleasant at these early hours, but, that may just be how I am." the Elf states, revealing a bit about herself before grinning in a catty way. "Ohhh... I am just missing out on the personal coffee cup benefits, am I? Hmhm...so where pray tell is yours? Unless, wait a minute...is that the fabled personal mug you mentioned?!" She says in a gasping, playful manner, broadening her mischievous smile and lidding her eyes to make her sarcastic point. "Hmhmhm~"

Grim smiled, looking back down at the disposable mug and nodded. "Oh? Why yes, yes it is." He looks up at her with a smirk. "You sure you don't want to be one of us? That was very perceptive of you. Yes, the Director herself greets every T.I.R.S. Recruit by handing them their own standard issue mug. It's quite the ceremony, in fact. All prospective members arrive in bright purple and yellow leotards for the ceremony, while the Captains make taiyaki and grilled noodles for the event. Oh, I shouldn't say too much, or else I'd have to execute Protocol B, phew, it has been a long time since I've had to execute THAT protocol." he says, advancing towards her table, leaning against the side. He was still cold, warming himself up between banter with his coffee crutch. How unusual. You come up here often to escape when on break, thanks to the cold air. Yet, I've never seen you till today... he thought, placing the disposable mug to his lips, sipping bitter coffee before removing.
"Ah, Records. A big library on the public floors of Tenik Tower. Its been a while since I perused the shelves myself." He says, holding back a shiver as the cold dug it's icy nails deep into his body.

Hehe, he's still soldiering on. Despite this chill he must be feeling, the human man before me definitely has some discipline in cold temperatures, or he's a very patient want to be suitor. she thought, chuckling. She outright giggled at his outrageous description. "Oh, you are terrible. Stop pulling my leg, the introductory ceremony can't be THAT outrageous, I mean...the mug? I can see that. But purple and yellow leotards? Heh, I'd like to see you in one if that's true." she teased, sticking her tongue out at him playfully before she added: "Oh yeah? What's Protocol B?" She furrowed her brows and puffed her cheeks. "Hey, Records is more than just a library! It holds files, and, well, records, archives and..." she paused, blushing before she realized what she was saying. Its a big library... the thought made her flinch slightly, making her close her eyes and sigh in a grumpy fashion before her features softened, and she chuckled. "Bravo good sir," she says presenting him with her cigarette lighter and case. "Oh would you like one? Before you catch a death chill? I know you have put up a valiant effort to keep your cool, and admire that. However, I cannot help but feel like I've put you at a disadvantage in this chill. I'm a Snow Elf, after all. You've got little chance to withstand the cold unlike me. It's in my genetics." she states, giggling.

Grim smiled slyly. "Oh, no. Its true. It just so happens that after the ceremony the jumper burst into flames at the ceremony's end, so I haven't got one in which to parade myself in." He sarcastically played on, till a big chill ran down his spine, making him shiver involuntarily. She seemed to laugh at this, and then presented him with a cigarette. He looked at the black rolled up cigarettes line up in neat little rows, but raised his hand and shook his head 'no'. "I appreciate it, but I promised my Mother I'd quit after I got out of the Service. I've been off them for a little over a year now. But again, thank you for presenting me with an addictive means to keep myself warm." he chuckled, before backtracking the conversation. "Oh... Protocol B...." he said, as if being careful with his words. He takes a seat beside the charming Elf, looking at her with a sly grin. "Protocol B is when I introduce myself, then ask if you would like to have dinner with me, say...tomorrow? Followed by an exchange of numbers and work hours." he started, before setting the coffee onto the table, and extended his hand. "I'm Grimoire Valentine." He smiled warmly, finding this woman too interesting to simply let go without trying his luck.

Iris giggled, nodding, as she played along. "Ah, I see. Must have been as chilly for you then as it is now; with your clothes burned away." she replied in a teasing manner, pulling the lighter away. She nodded, on a more serious note when he presented his reason to turn down a cigarette. I can respect that oath. She thought to herself, as he sat beside her now. As he described Protocol B and told her his name, she looked flustered, and was unsure how to respond. She nodded. "Ah...but you need level one clearance before we can properly have dinner, Mr. Valentine." she says in a playful manner, before looking at him evenly. "All right, I'm-" she then thought about her hours and like a nervous tic, her eyes went to the large clock mounted on the building across the street, and it was nearly 8 AM!
"-totally late!" She gasped, blushing fervently standing up abruptly, in the process knocking Grimoire's coffee over! "AH!" she exclaimed, watching it splash over his leg. "I-I am so sorry! Oh forgive me, I just panicked when I saw the time, I was supposed to be back a half hour ago and---" she paused, slipping the lighter away and then removed her handkerchief, dabbing it at his leg before she thought about his offer. You know... I may just consider it. Especially since I just knocked java all over his leg. She thought, and giggled. She took one of his hands, and gave him her handkerchief, and stood up. "I-I have to get going. Sorry for being so rude, but I have to go."
She then began to make her way to the door, pausing once to turn to him. "If you really are a good T.I.R.S. Agent, Grimoire;" she started, smiling with a bit of blush. "Then... you'll be able to find out my name. When you do, come find me, and you'll have your level one clearance." she winked and then said at last: "It was fun chatting with you. I hope you will find me again."
With that she kept her smile, and headed back through the cafeteria, slipping into the elevator before it went down.

"It's okay, it's okay--hsss" Grim hissed, and for only a moment did all the feeling of cold he had was replaced with intense heat and pain. Then he felt her delicate hands upon his, the handkerchief slipped within as she smiled and made her parting. He held her handkerchief, looking from it to her as she made her way out.
He closes his eyes and sighs with a silly grin upon his face. "She's made a game out of this..." he chuckles, wiping away the wet on his thigh with the back of his hand, and he reopens his blue eyes and looks upon the handkerchief. It was rather decorative for a personal hand cloth; a white and rather soft bit of cloth with white lace and gilded embroidery. The initials 'I.L' were inscribed in one corner, while an unfamiliar and decorative family crest of sorts was patched onto the opposite facing corner.
"'I.L', huh?" he says, standing up, stroking his thumb across the crest and lettering, before looking at where the charming Snow Elf had vanished. He kept his grin, folding the delicate item and slipped it into his coat pocket. He looked down at his spilled coffee and frowned slightly. "I can't ever have a break however." he says, sighing, rubbing his left shoulder with his right hand before heading out as well. He was going to stop by motor vehicles, and head out in on of the company cars.
