Rhelaris Fortalice Empty Rhelaris Fortalice

Jilienne Rhelaris the XVII pokes her head outside the small tower of the poor excuse of a forward operating fort and surveys the lands. The Fortalice was little more than a farming hut ruin with some fortifications and defenses set up that barely kept out the breeze. The place was so well ventilated, you could have sworn it was cheese. "Cursed Fausts are gaining the edge..." She grumbled. Jilienne was a noble demon whose family never held too much influence over the other demon noble families. They were a small yet organized group who held territory near that crazed fool, Count Despar and his tower. Her family had sent many to push the vagrant off their lands, but were unsuccessful in finding suitable warriors for hire or local wildlife to send the vagrant packing. They only remembered his name for he used to scream it before striking out at the soldiers they sent while they observed from a distance. A damned fool with a damned dream, a dream that was equally as unapproachable as hers was it seemed... to bring her family to the top of the pecking order in a new demonic realm order!

She frowned, watching enemy troops appear from the woodland to raid their rather unassuming Fortalice... "Fools wishing to join the ranks of the fallen in oblivion..." She says with a deep voice, her eyes glowing red, her sclera becoming black- her skin a deep tan, her blond hair becoming paler shade of white and her wings becoming bloodied as she raised her left arm towards the foolish warriors:

They were a small fiefdom in the Demon Realm, but there was a reason they had not been absorbed into the nearby kingdoms vying for power... as Rhelaris' magic caused a scarlet flame to ignite the trespassers approaching the fortalice from the inside out. The warriors screamed in pain, as their blood boiled and became red steam which perforated the flesh... the red fog causing soldiers behind them to fall, choking on the horrid fumes before they too exploded into red mist. The shimmering scarlet fog swept through the armored lines that kept advancing onto their position, and she knew even if she kept this up the enemy would be tearing down her walls and ripping through the camp eventually.

One of her soldiers clad in black and gold ran to her, telling her exactly that, and she closed her crimson eyes with a sigh before lowering her arm. Her body returned to normal, her crimson eyes turning to her officer sharply. "Very well, order the retreat for the time being... but ensure that the Fortalice lives up to its... temporary new residence. From their colors, its the Blood-Borne Clan... they're a stupid lot, we'll have this place back in our hands in a fortnight." She says with a smirk, the demon officer ahead of her smiling in turn, nodding, as she escorted him out of the tower.

The Blood-Borne's were a very primitive yet decently organized group of demons with no real noble ties. They were ruthless, stupid, and angry which never mixed well. They would often fight among themselves, but their latest Chieftain was somewhat of an exception. She did not recall his name, but he was slightly more on the intelligent side, the only reason why the barbarians were still in this fight for the Demon World's Crown.

Jilienne was outside with her troops, a small regiment providing them cover while they fled into the woodland, all the while the Fortalice was ready for their new invader's for the taking... with a special surprise waiting for them within the small fort's hold. Jilienne only wished she'd be around to see it happen, but... she'd see the aftermath eventually when her army returned to reclaim it.

She lifted the sides of her dress, her heel boots parting the grass as she walked into the Scarlet Wood with her troops; the others who covered their retreat pulling back soon after.
