(From Here in Hangman's Row!)

Kisaragi stretched her arms above her head upon finally setting the dreaded metal cases down! "Mmmmmmnyaah!" She closed her eyes, yawning as she stretched herself out, her breasts bobbing with her arching back and subtle twists left and right; before rolling her shoulders individually. She blinked her long lashes and smiled, looking around the room for the man Steven had arranged for her to meet up with. He was supposed to be the one to give her the vehicle that would make the trip through Minktail Forest, the Unkempt beauty of Windscar Area, and into and past the veil of Endless White of the Northern Ice Caps.

She saw the vehicle before she saw the man who was working on it. A modified Chesluk Industries Bull Dog:

Delancy's Garage 1920?cb=20130728045635

That big boy will get me through the rough terrain. I hope the heater works... she shrugged, remembering she forgot to pack a woolen jacket and some other winter clothes unfortunately. She made her way over to the vehicle, and noticed the pair of legs sticking out from beneath. Smiling, she bent down, one hand on her hip and the other on her left thigh:

"Heya!" She announced herself, her glossy pink lips perched into a friendly smile.

The legs of a man wearing greasy overalls on a set of mechanics jumpsuit. His belts and pockets full of tools and equipment laying on what would appear to a casual observer as a skateboard, was busy twisting and turning subtlely this way and that as he cranked wrenches and turned screws making his adjustments to the vehicle. "Gimme just a sec" he called out as he cranked the socket wrench a few more times before he pulled himself out from under the vehicle. The man's face, hidden behind a cloth bandanna and a pair of goggles, was streaked with grease and motor oil, his hands, encased in thick industrial gloves, were also caked in the black substance, with he used to lift the goggles as he sat up, looking up at his improptu visitor.

"How can I help ya there?" he asked.

Kisaragi smiled, straightening herself up as the man sat up. She was used to seeing such grease and soot herself, having worked on many of the T.I.R.S. vehicles now and then. She smiled, extending her fingerless glove clad hand to shake his and help him onto his feet as she introduced herself: "Hiya! Name's Kisaragi Hinomoto. I'm a friend of Profess-er, I mean, Steven Chesluk. He said he'd have a vehicle waiting for me here to pick up?" she chuckled, her large eyes glancing him over playfully before they directed to the vehicle he was working under. "I believe this may be the beast in question. She workin' well? Doesn't need anything else need working on?" she asked, her hyperactive tone quite prevalent as well as her energy. And from his position, many things were bouncy, other than her attitude.

The mechanic pulled off his work gloves before clasping her hand and allowed Kisaragi to pull him up. "Thankya" he said.

"Ah, the prof sending ya out on one of his errands eh? I don't envy ya yer trip lass. The polar wastes are no place for people." the mechanic looked back over the Bulldog he was working on. "Hmm, I'll need to outfit one of these with snowcat tires with studded treads, but I think she'll handle it when the time comes. I just finished adjusting the engine for sub zero arctic temperatures, so once the wheels are replaced you'll be ready to go."

"No problem." Kisa says back. She chuckled. "Yeah, all for a delivery believe it or not. The heater's working I hope.." she says with a slight nervous tone, chuckling with unease. "Yeah, I'm not fond of the cold myself. Well, if all we need is a tire change allow me to help ya. I know my way around a garage and a simple tire switch won't take long. Besides, I need to get rid of some energy before that long drive! Can't think of anything else rigorous to do besides." she laughs, closing her long lashes and giggling against her wrist.

When she reopened them, she glanced back to the mechanic's eyes. "So, where you keep them tires?"

"The tires you need are over there just by the jack, the ones with the studded snow spikes." the mechanic replied, knowing Kisaragi was a kind of mechanic like he was.

Be careful, because those wheels need to be wired to allow retraction of the spikes. You don't want to wear them out on the way there until you get to the snow." replied the mechanic as he wheeled the rear right wheen to his position, before hoisting the wheel into position, and using the auto socket wrench to secure it in place, before going back under the vehicle by the axle and he began to wire the vehicle to the main drive train.

She smirked. "Aye-aye, sir!" she commented in a charming tone, adding a mock salute in turn before heading over to the jack. "Yeah, these bubbies are just the thing I need to get through that permafrost. So, just out of curiosity, how much presence do the 'Darkcloaks' have in these parts?" she asked. Darkcloaks was another term used to refer to the Domescadian Army, since their officers wore long leather cloaks over their uniforms which were either tan/desert themed to a dark grey or black. Last she could recall, the Eastern Half of Domescadia wasn't yet in Abdel Adham's clutch. He practically owned the continent and country, yes, but the Minktail and Windscar areas were as she last recalled, still neutral.

I know most of Minktail is owned by the Elven nations, and Abdel hasn't gone to declare war on Izhevesk who they may see as a potential ally. But so do we of the Concordat and more of all Tenik Industrial. Professor Chesluk wanted me to deliver these goods to the Tsar though, regardless of his choice in the matter. She thought, turning her head to the cases again. I can't let them fall into anyone's hands, aside the Tsar. The Elves of Minktail haven't chose sides either, and probably won't unless provoked. In such case, they will likely be their own power and attack us humans for destroying their sacred woodlands. Granted, animosity between mortals and the longer lived Elves have been less hostile over the centuries... But I can't allow my gear to be taken from them either. she thought, before turning to face the wheels again and began to carefully and slowly roll them over, careful to hold on their sides where the spikes didn't protrude much with her gloved palms.

Upon reaching the vehicle, she aided in replacing the old tires with the newer, spikier ones. Using the auto socket wrench to bolt them into position, from the opposite side where he had gone under to begin wiring.

As the mechanic twisted under the chassis of the vehicle, he replied with the occasional grunt mixed in "You mean Adham's Black Legion boys? They do routine patrols around the state lines of Minktail and the Izhevesk border. Havn't crossed yet to my knowledge. Some say they are patrolling there to keep people trapped in their border more than building up for war. I dunno which is true... Abdel isn't like other would be dictators... Hes acting more like those ancient barbarian warlords from the dark days...."

She breathed a small sigh of relief. "Thank goodness they haven't yet. But it does beg to question how his people still support him, the way he treats them... at least to our knowledge." she says with another, more dispassionate sigh. She grabbed another tire, large, and heavy, with almost the ease of carrying a sack of potatoes, holding it above her head with hidden strength before bringing it over to the front left side door. Easing it into place, she thought of the.. 'other package'.

An odd tube Steven told me to keep sure not to open or get wet. It sits within the sponge lining within the smaller duraluminum case... he seemed anxious to have me deliver that. she thought, before shrugging, using the auto socket wrench again. "You been in business long here?" she asked the mechanic, randomly.

"Abdel is a cruel, emotionless POS (piece of shit), but he's not a fool. He's made sure that the Teronians and Domescadians don't know of any other way to survive, and he's got them thinking that nobody is willing to come and help them. This is especially true of the Teronians... He's made sure that the rest of the world thinks the Teronians are all boogiemen who eat children and kill everything they touch. Meanwhile he's busy consuming as many of them as he deems needed to empower himself. But there are rumors of an underground movement that is trying to get as many Teronians out of Abdel's hands as possible... Seems like there's at least one among them brave enough to make moves against Abdel's regime enough to try and save some of them." answered the mechanic as he finished wiring the first tire and moving to the one Kisaragi had mounted earlier.

When she asked how long he had been here, he smiled as he solded the first wire. "I simply go where I'm needed. I got transferred to this base about a month ago, doing odd fabrication and repair works. Won't be long before another post needs me, either for direct work or on-site training for new mechanics and engineers."

She frowned at that. It was true, that the Teroronian's had been given a bad rap for centuries, but with recent events most of the world thought them outright as monsters, given their patron God of War being the Saint of Thieves and Assassins... She wasn't generally wrapped up in that political air, as she was with handling the T.I.R.S. Equipment and support otherwise.

She wasn't surprised by the mechanic's knowledge, as this T.I.R.S. sanctioned outpost was their Domescadian Branch's FOB, even though it was a garage... till you got to the lower levels. Director Shinitase ran the show now, but all the TIRS knew it was former Director and the head of R&D who made this place... Steven Chesluk himself.

She smirked. "Well if you haven't been to Bries Harbor or Galideno's Mother Base, those two are fantastic places. Good food and weather all year round!" she chuckled, applying the last tire.

The mechanic laughed and replied "Yeah, many years ago, I was trained in both locations. I have done sporadic work in both those bases, but with the war, the demand for flexible experienced engineers and mechanics is in need all over the place and we simply don't have enough qualified personnel to fill every position, so some of the more experienced hands like me get shipped arround frequently to try and plug the holes and train some of the newer guys on-site. It's patchwork at best, but until they can graduate a few full schools worth of engineers, it's the best we can do."

She laughed heartily at this. "That explains why I was approached in such a manner. Been at this for only a couple years, I'm one of those said graduates from Galideno Tech!" she continued to giggle, deciding to slide under and help with some of the wiring and connections as well. Her breasts squishing against the underbelly of the car was a habit she was used to by now; a woman of few shames... sometimes.

"I hope the purpose of this trip is not to set up a base in the Polar North," she started with a depressed tone. "I'd pity the crew sent there to freeze their bums off!" she added.

The mechanic finished wiring the second tire and passed Kisaragi the soldering tool as he moved to then ext tire beside her. "Well, if they do, I imagine it'd be garrisoned by Izhevesk members, and probably some northern beastkin or even manbeasts like the white Torahime. People underestimate the intelligence and contributions some of those folk have to provide. Even Abdel himself sees the use of them, when he employs Apophis Naga in his forces." replied the mechanic as he took out a second Soldering tool and began fusing the wires to their nodes on the tire.

She chuckled. "Tis true I guess. They say the Izheveskians were descended from Scardians who drifted away from Scar'd's exploration party, prior to him ascendin' at least, so the legend says. If anything, aside from the fair hair, that makes the lot of them similar, its they both are stubborn and full of pride. They wouldn't have it if we moved in next door. Though, I wouldn't want a base there, I wouldn't mind their cooperation in this coming war, if you ask me." she says with a bit of strain given cramped conditions.

She blinked at the mention of the fauna. "Aye, tis a shame. The Pres is doing his best to make Wurms useful for subterranean digging, but the military wings up in arms about that. If they are willing to help, I wouldn't mind any race's assistance. Be them mortal or not." she sighs, before turning to him. "I count myself lucky I haven't had to run in with any in the wild." she smirks. "Supportive of them? Yeah. But, there are some needs more primal than others." she says playfully sticking her tongue out at him. She then turned to face the undercarriage again, oil dripping a little between her cleavage. "Oh crap... well, as I was sayin'. Some needs are more primal than others. I can hazard a guess what I may be thought of to a lone creature of the wilds. There are different cultures, but in ours... we have some level of restriction that keeps us from eating our neighbor's cow or screwing their wife... So in some level, I can't blame some of the notorious deeds of notable man-eaters in our lovely, peace loving Galiavan." she says, shrugging after that statement, working on the soldering again.

The Mechanic laughed at the general opinion of Kisaragi. "The Izheveskians can be just as.... Boisterous as the Scardians I suppose, but like them, the Izheveskians have their own code of honor that they follow."  The mechanic reached over and re sealed the oil line Kisaragi knocked, stopping the oil loss.

"The manbeasts like Wurms may be simplistic, but they arn't stupid, and they have a long memory... And they remember some tragedies of the past. However, because of fear many manbeast species have developed their own cultures independently of humans, and many still see humans and other humanoids as natural prey. But, if you give them a chance, they are more than intelligent and reasonable enough to repress such urges. I've found that most just want to be left alone, or want to integrate with human societies in a positive way. The Wurms are a decent example, they are large and powerful enough to wreck most human civilizations, as the vast majority of our weapons can't even scratch them, and everything bar the most advanced energy shield technologies can't stop them from going wherever they want and snatching up whomever they want. If one were to target say George .Jr or Steven or any other Tenik exec, who could stop it without an impossibly large antitank cannon and at least a class 4 energy barrier? I'd say that exec is either dinner or dildo... nothing I could do to stop it. Same with Selachi, and Selachi are much more difficult to talk to than a Wurm is..."

She didn't say much at first, simply continued her work on the wiring kit and thanking the man for plugging up the tube she knocked loose with her erm, 'knockers'. She was however, lost in thought for a moment. "Memories eh?" she says with a slightly less energetic tone. She blinked for a moment, as if to bat away her own memories.

After a long pause, she turned to face him with renewed vigor, smiling. "Heh, that is true. I mean, I fear to run into a creature whose about to use me as their personal sex toy or simply a hot lunch, but at the same time I can't help be flattered somewhat." she joked, before turning away. "Well, I think Keropin are just as hard to potentially bargain with as well," she changed the dark subject quickly. "I hear they're absolutely chaotic." she chuckled lowly, her bangs hiding her eyes.

The mechanic grunted when Kisaragi mentioned the Keropin "Well, there are always exceptions. The Keropin are lunatics. Those things really do operate on the basest desires whenever they can. They don;t like to think or plan ahead too much... Kinda like hanticapped children with ADHD in the bodies of adults with fully awakened sexual desires... and hunger pangs that would make the muchies drug addicts go through a minor inconvenience..." He stopped and thought for a moment. "But even they can be manipulated when provided with something they want...." he uttered darkly.

"Hrmmph..." the mechanic would hear Kisaragi groan, her head leaning back, though upside down her face still clearly shown off a tinge of... anger. Her lidded eyes glanced at him sharply, her lips in a pout. "I have ADHD... thank you." she says, taking some oil from her cleave and flings it at him, but was careful enough to avoid hitting his eyes; even if he did deserve it for that remark. "I can still clearly function! My desires aren't warped, and I'm not so easily manipulated!" she states, puffing out her cheeks with a low harrumph.

The mechanic looked at Kisaragi seriously, not even flinching at her oil attack. "You at least bother to control it. Keropin have no concept of control. Every wild impulse is acted upon. every want, and desire is actively sought, then forgotten once done as their interests move on." he looked back up at his work and finished soldering the last of the wires. "T'is why they can greet you, screw your brains out, then eat you alive all in one moment without batting an eye for the consequences..."

She paled. Looking back at him with a more concerned expression. "W-wait, REALLY?! I wasn't told that in basic!" She screamed, both shocked and entertained by the new bit of information. "Crap... makes me wonder what other creatures can't be bought off by words or actions..." she says with a bit more distress.

The Mechanic smiled again slightly "Depends on the individual... I've seen Selachi trick entire ships worth of supposedly intelligent and capable merchants and sailors into giving them all their wealth and cargo, then go on to eat them alive anyway. But for every tricky Selachi or demented Keropin, there are honorable Torahime or even tame Lamia... I've even seen a domesticated Hellhound once... And that is no ordinary feat." The mechanic smiled again as he slowly started to slide out from under the Bulldog. "It is at those times I am glad I don't judge a being by their species. Not even Keropin deserve blind bigotry."

She took those words to heart, feeling a mix of emotions from them. We weren't duped... were we? She closed her eyes and shook her head as the images returned. "Yeah- I agree." she added, pulling herself from underneath as well. The topic of Lamia made her blink. "I wonder what Abdel offers the Apophis in exchange for their service?" She says, before, inspecting the Bulldog. Seemed like she was ready to go at face value.

"I dunno first hand, but from what I've heard through the mills, Abdel gives them free reign to live and work in the cities, places in businesses and even government positions, which provides them access to the Black Libraries where Adham stores things like arcanna, tomes of power, things like that. But he also opened the door to abolishing the laws of Neko consumption. Without the law, the Nekomimi beastkin in Domescadia are forced to fend for themselves. They are among the people that the smugglers are trying to get out of Abdel's lands, because they get no protection from hungry Apophi these days." The Mechanic sat up, a sad and melancholy look overcame his face, combined with what appeared to be growing outrage.

"But the Apophi are also quite sadistic... and being eaten by one could be only the beginning of your troubles with them if they catch you...."

Kisaragi felt a shiver down her spine. "Gods..." she commented on the fate of Domescadia's Nekomimi. To condemn their race to slaughter, just to gain the favor of the Apophi... wanton massacre. She paled, looking at him. "Only the beginning? Gods, what else are they capable of?" she asked, appalled as it was by the situation. Granted, this did go beyond the acceptable realms of predation. This was mass... mass...

Sacrifice....

She blinked, shaking her head, clapping the sides of her face.
